Slippers? You mean the Tabi (sock things) and the Geta (shoes) yep, those are part of traditional Japanese clothes. I think I'd look rather silly in sneakers :D

nooooo that was taken at a temple in the winter time. Its was FREEZING there becuase Kyoto is in the bottom of a valley so its extra cold in the winter and early spring.
